Entering its’ 5th year, the Copper Mountain Half Marathon, in conjunction with Copper Mountain Resort and the 3 Ring Festival have moved the event to the holiday weeked of July 1st - 4th.
We have also added a NEW challenging 10k race for Saturday July 3rd.
With some of the most beautiful scenery, bike trails, creeks and mountain views, the Copper Mountain ½ Marathon will give you the full experience of mountain running. Starting at 9,700 feet, this race is for the runner looking to enjoy a nice run in the mountains and not for “time”. The course for 2011 will change slightly in the first 6 miles then continue its path up the Vail Creek Path.
For the kids we will host the FREE Copper mini-marathon on Sunday July 3rd at 11:00am for a ¼ mile run through Copper Resort and around the lake. Every kid will receive a finisher ribbon and frozen treat.
NEW THIS YEAR!- During the weekend the 3 Ring Festival will be running throughout Copper Mountain with FREE kids activities and live music for the adults. A kid parade, face painting, giant puppets, and eco-friendly expo will be just part of the festivities. For more information on the weekend activities go to www.3RingWeekend.com .
